Math: Finish up to page 60. BASIC FACTS

LA: BTT 4 paragraphs.

Social: New France and the fur trade. Know this material, it comes back in Grade 7. Review ch 4 and 5 in Our Land and People as well as the pages in Early Canada.

Science: Take your electricity reading over spring break.

Math: Continuing our number sense review. Finish page 56. Basic facts still need to improve.

Social: We read Early Canada and discussed the fur trade companies, Henry Kelsey etc.

Science: Try taking a reading of your home electricity meter. Look at your parents' bill to find the kilowatt hours.

LA: C.S. p. 29, 30, 31. Make sure you are caught up on DLR.

Field Trip to the Provincial Museum on Friday for wetlands and aboriginal studies!

Math: up to page 50 in our number sense review -regrouping. We also learned how to do a Sudoku puzzle

LA: Bridge to Terabithia 5 paragraph essay.

Social: We played the fur trading game and had oral quizzes on New France and the fur trade.

Science: We spent a lot of time going over dividing and multiplying multiples of 10 in preparation for figuring out kilowatts used. We will continue to go over kilowatt hours and energy efficiency of appliances.

DARE continues. Our next DARE class with Constable Smith isn't until April 17.

Math: We are continuing to solidify number sense concepts. We have completed page 42.

LA: We watched the movie, Bridge to Terabithia and will now write a 5 paragraph essay comparing the book and the movie.

Social Studies: Les voyageurs.

Science: We will take a look at energy efficiency and kilowatt hours next.

Hello all!

Language arts: We have finished Bridge to Terabithia and should be done all the work up to chapter 13.
Grammar terms you should know: synonym, antonym, prefix, suffix, declarative, exclamatory, imperative or interrogative sentence, possessive as well as the parts of speech and punctuation marks. (? ! " , . ; : -) No that's not a happy face, it's a colon and a hyphen.

Math: We are spiralling back a bit and reviewing some number sense concepts in our new booklet. You should be finished up to page 35.

Social: Voyageur sheet. Students should be familiar with the terms and concepts in chapter 8. We have discussed quite a bit and learned a new voyageur song, En Roulant ma Boule Roulant.

Science: We continue to explore the wonderful world of electricity.

Whoa! A whole week went by. Report cards, report cards, report cards.

Social Studies: We have been studying New France and are now beginning the fur trade.

Language Arts: We practised the play, "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and it was a lot of fun to see it performed!

Math. We have been studying patterns. Everyone should be up to page 16 in their booklet.

Science: We have been doing experiments with static electricity. For homework, rub your feet on the carpet and touch someone!

Hello all,

Math: We have finished our fractions unit in math and are now starting with patterns and a little algebra. Great job in the last unit. Pages 1-6 should be done in the new booklet.

Social studies: We are well into our history unit and are actually way ahead because of HIstory Tellers.

Science: Electricity continued. We have been making a variety of circuits and electromagnets. (Some of our telegraphs didn't work that well though.)
