We took quite a bit of time today to finish our three projects.
We are now working on our famous Canadian posters who has had an impact on our history and culture.
Trying to simplify long division, I seem to have made it more difficult. Practice continues tomorrow.
We have DARE from 9:00-10:00.

Projects that you should be finishing and handing in:
1. letter from a loyalist
2. Inventor baseball card
3. Five paragraph essay
You should have also chosen a Canadian who has had an impact on our history and culture and researched their life. We are creating a poster with the info and pictures.
You should be able to multiply two digit by two digit numbers with no problem.
Take the initiative to master long division as we will be practicing it in class. It is one of the most commonly forgotten skills as students go into Grade six.
Despite lots of practice in class, many students are still not fluent with basic facts in math (broken record). This is an essential math skill that requires PRACTICE! Personal math trainer for the DS is a good game. There are many websites with math games and paper and pencil works too.

We had an excellent trip to the museum. Thanks once again to our parent volunteers.
Language arts: Daily Language Review - finished up to week 27 Monday. We wrote about what we did this spring break then discussed what to avoid in this type of writing (writing a "list", lack of detail, not connecting to your audience.) and what you can do to make it interesting. (adding detail, connecting to others by writing about things they can relate to, and giving just one moment in time in depth, not an entire trip in one paragraph.
Math: Are you a basic facts master? If not, why not?! Finished page 63.
Social: New France and the fur trade. Know this material, it comes back in Grade 7 and we will be having a test on this next week. Review questions will be coming home shortly.
Science: Make sure that you have your electricity reading for Monday done. No excuses!
