LA: We are working on writing a new story.

Social: Canada post-confederation. British Columbia joins and the creation of the North West Mounted Police.

Science: Know life cycles and adaptations of wetlands animals. Be able to identify the insects on your sheet.

Math: Finish up the measurement booklet and review pages 110, 111, 134, 135. All to be handed in. Quiz on measurement will be moved to Monday so we can finish all the review work. You also need to know the measurement song for Monday.

Social: We are creating posters of Sir John A. MacDonald, George Etienne Cartier and George Brown.

Science: You should know the three main functions of a wetland. Coming tomorrow (Friday) you will learn and need to know about producers, consumers and decomposers.

LA: More editing. We will be working to edit and improve our own past writing assignments.

LA: We are creating a class newspaper. Whole school final writing assessment is Wednesday.

Science: Electricity practical final was today. Great work! The written portion is tomorrow.

Social: history of Canada continues.

Math: Number sense tests have been returned. We have now started measurement. You need to know the song and to know what perimeter, area and volume are and what units we measure them in.

We are having DS period for math tomorrow.

Social: Social tests have been returned. Great migration, war of 1812 and confederation are the current topics.

LA: We are making a newspaper. Pull your weight and make good decisions about what you will do for this. I will be leaving responsibility with you.

Science: Review electricity. Unit test is on Monday.

A practice math test went home today. Be ready for the real thing tomorrow.

Homework for LA: We talked about meter as well as stressed and unstressed syllables. For tomorrow: find four words (or pairs of words) that follow the two patterns. DA da - stressed, unstressed (ex. giraffe, horseshoe) and da DA unstressed, stressed (goodbye, New York )

We are caught up and have completed all our big projects including our famous Canadian posters.

Math: We are finishing up our number sense unit. The unit test will be on Tuesday. Students should finish the booklet to page 124 by then. Look over pages 1-124.
