We made good use of our netbooks today, discussing online and working on mathletics as well as math 5 live!
We had a test on long division today and started our fractions unit. Keep working on basic facts and mathletics.
Science: weather test on Thursday
Social Studies: regions test on Friday
Language Arts: Mr. Linden's Library - you can work on this at home. Just download the file then upload it with your changes. Use the link "access your school files from home" on my blog.

We had an excellent day today. We worked with the laptop computer today and have a few projects on the go. Our class was great and it was a fun and exciting learning experience.
Math: Complete page 143 in the orange text. questions 1-15
Science: Complete Canadian weather disasters research at home if you need to.
Social: We're continuing our study of the aboriginal people of Canada, especially prior to Europeans coming to North America.
LA: Mr. Linden's library. We'll be working on our next section, "Inside the store." Edit and improve!

Happy New Year everyone!
Sorry for no updates the last two days, computer trouble yesterday and a late dimissal today.
Exciting news: the laptops are in! Our class will be a part of the second laptop project at J.E. Lapointe. We will be using a set of computers in the classroom which should allow us to do lots of great things without having to go to the computer lab. Once the new laptops are set up, our class will get the laptops that our school received last year, (currently being used by the junior high.)
Math:
We've been reviewing math concepts this week, making sure that we have mastered addition of large numbers, subtraction of large numbers and two-digit by two-digit multiplication. A letter will be coming home this week regarding our subscription to Mathletics. We are now working on division - practice and make sure to ask questions! Remember: Does McDonald's Serve Burgers?
Language Arts: Mr. Linden's library paragraph - get your character to the front of the bookstore and describe it. Put my writing advice into action and don't be afraid to use banish boring words as a resource to help you write.
Science: make sure you have completed ALL the sheets in "AIM 6." Review weather concepts for upcoming tests and quizzes. Science experiments that were handed out before Christmas will be brought in and demonstrated over the next couple of weeks. Be ready.
Social Studies: We need to work hard to become really familiar with the regions of Canada before we continue on to the history section. Read chapters 1-6 and review!
