We have been studying the aboriginal people of Canada in social studies and as part of our examination of their lifestyle (before Europeans came to North America) we have been building dioramas of the shelters used. Examples include igloos, wigwams, and tipis as well as Iroquois and Haida longhouses. This has been a lot of work but the end product is turning out great. Pictures will be posted soon.
We will soon be finishing our weather unit in science and will be doing tests and quizzes for those concepts over the next couple of weeks.
In math, we are completing the first part of our shape and space unit which involves measurement. One more review booklet went home today and we will work on it tomorrow, over the weekend, and on Monday with the test coming on Tuesday.
In language arts we are completing a five-paragraph essay on an animal and continue to work on becoming better readers and writers.
